Four things to avoid when ordering trading pins
- Cloisonné/Hardy enamel can contain high levels of lead. This may be important for youth groups.
- Try not to request delivery toward the first part of the week. If your pins are imported and there is a delay in customs clearance your pins could sit in a customs warehouse over the weekend for an additional day or two.
- Order your pins early! Over 97% of errors occur on rush ordered pins. Also, international flight delays, mostly because of weather, can take a few extra days.
- DON'T order your pins from companies that don't post their physical address on their contact page. You want to know where you're pins are coming from and with whom you're doing business!
DON'T WASTE MONEY!
- Use a 1-7/8" pin instead of a 2 inch. No one will notice the difference in size and you can save some money. Also, reducing the size by 1/8" may set you into a lower price bracket.
- Request a clear epoxy cover on your pin. It doesn't cost any more and it protects the metal finish. The pin is also heavier which can give the pin an appearance of greater value in the eyes of a trader.
- Use rubber pin backs in place of the metal ones. They are less likely to break, slip off, jam, or scratch something. Our pins come standard with rubber backs and epoxy domes!
- Always try to move up to the next highest quantity. This alone can reduce the unit costs by up to 25%!
